About the group
This service uses Yahoo Groups, by joining the group you will be able to receive email announcements and post messages. Go to the Group Home Page to join, if you do not already have a Yahoo account, you will be prompted to create one.
Viewing messages
Anyone can view the messages by going to the Group Home Page. To receive email notices you must join the group. If you get too many individual messages use the "Daily Digest" or "Web Only" account settings. Please report any inappropriate messages to the moderator.
Posting messages
You must be a group member to post messages. RESPONSES TO POSTINGS MUST BE TO THE "SENDER" ONLY. Do not post with attachments. Messages are not moderated, however any member abusing the system will be removed. Messages may take more than a few minutes to appear on the Group Home Page, so be patient.
Producers/Growers posting messages for foods available
Begin the subject line of your message with the word "OFFER:" followed by a brief description of what is available, and a general location.. The body of the message should contain details of what you have, how it is grown, prices, location and contact information. Do not post more than once per week for the same item. When you have sold out, post another message replacing the word "OFFER" with the word "TAKEN", the body of the message can be left empty, or you may say when the product will be available again.
Consumers posting messages for foods wanted
Please use this option very sparingly. Wanted message may be used for hard to find products or unusually large quantities. Begin the subject line of your message with the word "WANTED:" followed by a brief description of what you need, and a general location. The body of the message should contain specific details.
